Jungle Biking
Over the years, our
Jungle Biking Adventure has garnered a worldwide reputation with
mountain biking enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy a more casual
trail ride through a lush tropical setting. Our dedication to excellence
is apparent not only in the quality of our trails but also in the
high quality equipment, namely, our fleet of Cannondale Lefty Front-Fork
bikes with hydraulic disc brakes.
Jungle Biking Adventure’s long standing relationship
with Cannondale as exemplified by Tinker’s Trail, our most
demanding trail ride. Named after Tinker Juarez, 5-time World Champion,
2-time Olympian and 4-time U.S. National Champion now riding for
the Siemens-Cannondale Racing Team, it offers even the most experienced
rider a challenge not to be forgotten. For those of you who don’t
ride at this level, Tinker’s Trail offers a great hike with
one of the most fabulous views to be found anywhere in the Caribbean
as a reward.
Our 12 miles of trails through a lush coastal jungle
with its 18th century plantation ruins and hundreds of fruit trees
including bananas, mangos, guavas, etc., feature novice and intermediate
trails and loops. This allows riders of differing skill levels to
ride together while challenging themselves at a level with which
they are comfortable. After being given an introductory tour by
our professionally trained staff, riders are free to ride at their
own pace on any and all of the trails.
For novice riders, we do offer some personalized instruction
and tips for making your riding experience more enjoyable.
The Jungle Biking Adventure tour includes all the
features of the Rainbow Reef Safari (for all the details, please
visit the Rainbow Reef Safari page) as well as Cannondale Bike and
Bell Helmet rental and complimentary water bottle. For riders who
wish to ride clipless pedals, Shimano SPD pedals are available at
no additional charge. Rental shoes are available for a nominal fee.
Important stuff
All riders must wear closed toed shoes. We recommend wearing suitably
comfortable clothing for biking; light-weight synthetic materials
that wick away moisture and dry quickly are best. A towel, swim
suit, sunscreen and perhaps a change of clothing are useful. All
items can be stored in our lockers.
