Kool Kayaking

Kool Kayaking is one of our most popular adventures as it is a great way to see the magnificent scenery within St. Lucia’s marine park on the island’s west coast. Kayaking is done in high quality Prijon sea kayaks that feature rudders, ergonomic seats, knee braces and carbon fibre paddles.

Upon arrival, you are greeted by our professionally trained guides who will teach you basic sea kayaking techniques including how to safely exit and re-enter your kayak on open water, basic paddle strokes and balance, as well as dry entry/exit from shore.

You will then head out with your guide on a coastal tour over colourful coral reefs along the weathered volcanic cliffs that give St. Lucia its renowned rugged beauty. The tour is done at your pace and provides lots of sightseeing including great views of the world famous Pitons and a visit to Soufriere’s bat cave. It's an incredible place for photographs, especially with a waterproof camera!.

After returning to our Jungle Reef Adventure’s center, you will enjoy lunch at the Jungle Beach Bar & Grille, marine park snorkelling, beach and shower amenities and much more.

For hard-core sea kayakers Jungle Reef Adventures repeat tours that are tailored to your desires. Options include paddling across Soufriere Bay to the Pitons or venturing to a remote beach for a picnic lunch. We do try very hard to please.

Important Stuff
Sol lucet omnibus… the sun shines on everyone, so bring sunscreen and use it. Also, a synthetic, lightweight and loose long sleeve garment can be helpful in keeping you from sunburn. Polarized sunglasses with a securing device and a head covering, wide brimmed preferably, are strongly advised. Footwear that can get wet, neoprene booties, etc., is an option you might wish to consider.

Rarely, there may be days when sudden weather conditions, rains or winds, warrant cancellation for safety reasons. Should this occur, all kayakers will be offered an option to reschedule or participation in one of our other adventures. Participants must be physically able to handle a kayak and be a comfortable in the water as a swimmer. The kayak manufacturer recommends participants weigh between 110 pounds/50 kilos and 220 pounds/100 kilos. We do have sit-on-top kayaks as an alternative for those who do not comfortably fit in the sit-inside cockpits.
